5. Competent market surveillance authority

The federal states are currently establishing a joint body for the fulfillment of the tasks of the Accessibility Strengthening Act.

The market surveillance body of the federal states for the accessibility of products and services (MLBF) is expected to start its work as a new public law institution on June 28, 2025, in Saxony-Anhalt, in the state capital Magdeburg. A prerequisite for this is the ratification of the state treaty on the fulfillment of tasks under the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) by all federal states. All federal states are currently creating the necessary conditions for this.

There is an arbitration board at the Commissioner for the Affairs of People with Disabilities. The arbitration board's task is to resolve conflicts between people with disabilities and private federal economic actors.

You can involve the arbitration board if you are not satisfied with the responses from the contact option mentioned above. The goal is not to find winners or losers. Rather, the aim is to find a solution to a problem together and out of court with the help of the arbitration board. The arbitration procedure is free of charge. You also do not need legal assistance.
